MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL (PIA) – In a significant move to bolster local agriculture, the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental is set to launch the Baratong Bugas para sa Misamisnon (BBM) Asenso Rice Program during the Asenso Trade Fair from October 25 to November 10, 2024. This initiative aims to provide affordable rice to all families in Misamis Occidental, allowing them to purchase 5 kilograms at just ₱43.00 per kilogram. The trade fair booth will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with local government unit (LGU) employees eligible to buy rice from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Provincial Agriculture Officer Jun Salaguste stated, “This program highlights our locally sourced rice, sold at an incredibly reasonable price of ₱43 per kilo, significantly below market rates.
