A victory we all share: Cong. Indy Oaminal calls for unity as Asenso moves from Misamisnon roots to National reach

Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental—“This victory is not mine alone, it belongs to all of us.”

In his first official address as Asenso Pinoy Representative, Cong. Henry “Indy” Oaminal Jr. declared his commitment to expand the reach of the Asenso Brand Programs from their homegrown roots in Misamis Occidental to communities across the country. Speaking during the Oath-Taking Ceremony of Team Asenso, he emphasized that the recent electoral win was not just a personal achievement, but a collective triumph for the Asenso Pinoy Party and the Misamisnon people, powered by unity, integrity, and a shared vision for meaningful governance.

“Whenever someone from Misamis Occidental congratulates me on the election results, my instinct is always to congratulate them back,” Oaminal shared. “Not because I downplay the win, but because this is not just my personal victory—it is our victory,” he shared.

He highlighted how Asenso Pinoy, founded on the values and governance model of Misamis Occidental, secured over 265,000 votes in the province alone, enough to gain a seat in Congress even without national support. This, he said, is clear proof that the party’s programs and values truly resonated with the people.

“This win is not about a name. It’s not about me,” Oaminal said. “What we offered was not a personality, but the Asenso Brand Programs—programs that uplift lives, empower communities, and bring real change,” Oaminal emphasized.

He underscored that their campaign was not built on promises alone, but on core values that define public service: the 5Ms Development Thrust of Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon, ug Malipayona nd the deeper moral pillars of being Matinahuron, Matinud-anon, Matinabangon, and Mahigugmaon (Respectful, Honest, Helpful, and Loving).

“These values were our promise to the people. It was these that they voted for, not just my name, but the values we committed to uphold. And so, the responsibility to live by them does not fall on me alone, it is a shared duty of every member of Asenso Pinoy,” he said.

As their First Nominee and Representative, Cong. Indy Oaminal reminded his colleagues that true representation is a reflection and that effective leadership must embody the values of those being served.

He then issued a powerful challenge to his fellow officials: to serve not only with authority, but with accountability, and to be each other’s support system and moral compass in public service. “If we want Asenso to be truly felt not just in infrastructure, but in the dignity and well-being of our people, we must serve with unity, sincerity, and discipline,” Oaminal said.

Now serving as Vice President of Asenso Pinoy and a member of the national legislature, Oaminal vowed to maintain discipline within the party, uphold the people’s trust, and fully support all honest and hardworking public servants across the country. “We cannot afford to break the promises we made. Our constituents deserve results they can feel, not just roads and buildings, but lives lived with dignity, peace, and hope,’’ he added.

In closing, Cong. Oaminal called on all members of Team Asenso to lead by example and bring the Asenso mission to life in every barangay, every government office, and every encounter with the public. (SN/PGMO)
