Team Asenso secures full mandate, takes oath after sweeping victory in Misamis Occidental

Misamis OccidentalNewly elected provincial and local officials of Misamis Occidental took their oath of office on June 30 at the Bayfront Arena in Oroquieta City, following a landslide victory in the May 2025 elections.

Leading the oath-taking ceremony were Governor-elect Henry S. Oaminal and Vice Governor-elect Rowena Gutierrez, who secured a strong public mandate under the Team Asenso banner.

“For the first time in our province’s history,” said Gov. Oaminal in his inaugural speech, “we now have a full slate of officials—from congressmen down to barangay councilors—elected under one united banner.” He emphasized that the overwhelming mandate is more than a political victory; it is a collective endorsement of the people’s trust in good governance.

Also taking their oath were First District Representative Jason P. Almonte and Second District Representative Sancho Fernando “Ando” Oaminal, reaffirming their continued leadership in the province’s legislative work. Atty. Henry “Indy” Oaminal, the first nominee of the Asenso Pinoy Partylist, also took his oath after securing a seat in the House of Representatives, further strengthening Team Asenso’s presence in national legislation.

Newly elected Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) members from both districts were sworn in, pledging their support for ongoing reforms and development efforts in the province. City and municipal mayors, vice mayors, and councilors across Misamis Occidental also participated in the mass oath-taking, marking a unified start for local governance under one development agenda.

The ceremony highlighted the overwhelming support received by Team Asenso candidates, reflecting the public’s trust in their leadership and programs.

As the new term begins, the officials vowed to continue delivering quality public service, promoting peace and progress, and upholding the shared vision of a stronger and more developed Misamis Occidental.(SN/PGMO)
