To honor Benerando’s outstanding performance, Governor Oaminal presented him with a ₱150,000 cash reward, a new home, and a promise of free education up to college. At just 13 years old and in Grade 5, Benerando from Plaridel won three gold medals for One Asenso MisOcc in long jump, triple jump, and the 400m relay (Elementary Boys). He is the fourth of five siblings, with a father who works as a carpenter and a mother employed in Manila. Benerando dreams of helping his parents and improving their modest home in the marshlands of Plaridel.

“Salamat kaayo sa pag suporta nimo gov, dako kaayo ang imong gihatag nga papremyo. Dako kaayo ning katabang. mapaayo na gyud among balay. Akong pangandoy nga matarong among pamuyo,’’ Benerando shared, expressing his gratitude for the support and the difference it will make in his family's life.

Governor Oaminal’s support for Benerando aligns with his broader vision of empowering the youth through sports and education. “Benerando’s success is a shining example of what can be achieved with hard work and dedication.
