Asenso Misamis Occidental: Gov Oaminal's commitment to progress, prosperity
MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL (PIA) – Governor Henry S. Oaminal
continues to lead the transformation of Misamis Occidental into a safer,
fairer, and more prosperous province, driven by his unwavering dedication to
progress and adaptability.
At the core of this transformation is the Asenso Misamis
Occidental vision, which prioritizes the development of tourism, peace and
order, health, agriculture, education, sports, and investment hubs across
Mindanao. This initiative aims to create a God-loving, family-centered, and
disaster-resilient community.
Oaminal emphasized that with a dynamic and competent
leadership team, the province is on a clear path toward building a sustainable
economy that benefits all Misamisnons. "We are witnessing our beloved
province move toward a more dynamic government that is fulfilling its mission
to serve its people and stakeholders," he said. His vision remains
anchored in the 5Ms: Misamisnons Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon (Misamisnons
to live peacefully, productively, and joyfully).
Amplifying Development
Governor Oaminal’s agenda focuses on raising living
standards by promoting agriculture, fisheries, and eco-cultural tourism—key
sectors that align with the regional development agenda. His Asenso Rice
Farmers Full Assistance program is a clear reflection of his commitment to
achieving food self-sufficiency, boosting rice production, reducing costs, and
increasing farmers' income.
In addition to agriculture, Oaminal prioritizes accessible
and affordable healthcare for underprivileged communities, recognizing that a
healthy population is essential for a thriving economy. He has pushed for the
upgrade of hospital facilities to meet the province's growing health needs,
addressing long-standing challenges such as hospital congestion and limited
medical resources.
Oaminal’s Asenso Pamilya: One Family, One Professional program
is another key initiative, breaking the cycle of poverty by offering
educational grants. Families receive financial support for vocational or
tertiary education, with a monthly stipend of P5,000, totaling P25,000 per
semester.
Grounded in Service
From his tenure as a legislator to his current role as
governor, Oaminal has remained focused on creating opportunities and resources
for Misamisnons. After securing his position in the last elections, he
committed to making Misamis Occidental one of the top five tourist destinations
in Mindanao by investing in infrastructure, such as access roads to key tourist
sites.
“We are witnessing a more dynamic provincial government that
will fully realize its vision and mission,” Oaminal added.
Under his leadership, Misamis Occidental is steadily
progressing toward a brighter and more prosperous future for all its people.
