Felina Sevilla Oaminal NHS celebrates 6th Anniversary: A journey of dreams, dedication, and vision
CLARIN, Misamis Occidental—Felina
Sevilla Oaminal National High School celebrated its 6th founding anniversary,
commemorating a vision brought to life, the unwavering dedication of its
community, and the promise of an even brighter future ahead.
Governor Henry S. Oaminal, along
with the entire school community, marked six years of excellence in education
with great enthusiasm.
The celebration featured a
touching tribute adorned with vibrant flowers and uplifting balloons,
symbolizing hope and honoring the governor’s mother.
Governor Oaminal delivered an
inspiring message reflecting on the institution’s journey. He highlighted the
school’s origins, noting that it was born out of a dream to create a nurturing
environment where young minds could flourish.
“This institution was founded on
the belief that education is more than just imparting knowledge; it is about
inspiring greatness and fostering a spirit of discovery and innovation,” said
Oaminal.
Governor Oaminal paid tribute to
his late mother, Felina Sevilla Oaminal, an educator who deeply believed in the
transformative power of education.
“For my mother, teaching was not
just a profession; it was a calling—a commitment to guide, inspire, and empower
the next generation,” he shared. “Her selflessness and dedication motivated us,
her children, to pursue our goals and give our best in whatever calling we have
been given.”
To honor her legacy, the Felina
Sevilla Oaminal National High School was established through Republic Act
11072, approved on August 23, 2018. The school has since become a beacon of
learning and growth for students in the province.
The governor also expressed his
gratitude to the school’s faculty and the Department of Education for their
unwavering dedication.
“This school has become a sanctuary of
learning because of the tireless efforts of its teachers and staff. Your
dedication shapes the growth and achievements of our students,” Oaminal said,
emphasizing the critical role of educators in the community.
Governor Oaminal reaffirmed the
provincial government’s commitment to enhancing the education system in Misamis
Occidental. He highlighted the “Asenso Pamilya: One Family, One Professional”
Scholarship Program, which aims to have at least one gainfully employed
professional in every family in the province.
In his address to the students,
Governor Oaminal urged them to dream big and work hard, reminding them of their
power to shape their destinies.
“The future is not something you enter; it is something you create,” he said. “Honor your parents—they are the silent champions who stand behind every success and offer strength in every challenge.”
Looking ahead, the governor
called on the community to embrace change and seize new opportunities. “Let us
continue to push the boundaries of what is possible and remain committed to
fostering a culture of curiosity, resilience, and empathy,” Oaminal urged. “Our
mission is clear: to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and
character to become leaders who make a difference.”
As the celebration concluded,
Governor Oaminal reminded everyone that the best is yet to come. “With the same
spirit of collaboration and excellence that has brought us to this moment, let
us continue to build a future where every student can realize their dreams and
contribute to a brighter tomorrow,” he said.
The anniversary served as a
poignant reminder of the sacrifices of Felina Sevilla Oaminal and all those who
have been part of the school’s history.
“May their hard work, dedication, and commitment continue to inspire our students, teaching force, and everyone involved,” Oaminal concluded.
Moreover, the governor announced
exciting enhancements, including new school uniforms and shoes for 401
students, additional classrooms, and a multi-purpose covered court.
He also revealed plans to launch
a Senior High School next year and surprised everyone with a special
performance and bonuses for both students and teachers, exuberantly celebrating
the school's achievements and looking forward to an even brighter future. (SMRN/PGMO)
