PTESDC targets to foster MisOcc's 5M goals

 

OROQUIETA, Misamis Occidental—The inaugural convening of the Provincial Technical Education and Skills Development Committee (PTESDC) in Misamis Occidental heralded a new chapter in the province's journey towards fostering a skilled workforce.

Chaired by the Working Governor Henry S. Oaminal and represented by Jojo Noriel P. Ampahan, Provincial PESO Manager, the meeting primarily aims to reecho the governor's steadfast commitment to a more advanced technical education and skills development in the region.

The meeting, which was held in March, was attended by a diverse array of stakeholders, such as representatives from private enterprises, Local Government Units (LGUs), and technical education specialists.

Among the attendees include Dr. Noralaine R. Rasul, TESDA Provincial Director,  Luz G. Galda, DTI Provincial Director, alongside esteemed members of the PTESDC such as Elvira D. Tan, Dr. Marte M. Emperio, and April Lourse O. Aoanan, who acted as an alternate of Engr. Loreto Leo S. Ocampos. Other attendees included Vicente S. Rupinta, Engr. Lee R. Catane, and Dante F. Aliman, fulfilling roles as members of PTESDC, Vocational School Administrator, and Training Center Administrator.

Several technical specialists and support staff shared their expertise to enrich the discussions as they collectively emphasized the significance of a collaborative approach in achieving the province's developmental goals.

The agenda of the 1st PTESDC meeting focused on the efforts to improve technical education and skills development in the province.

During the meeting, the Provincial Secretariat was oriented and endorsed the Provincial Technical Education and Skills Development Plan for 2023-2024, which was cited as important in pushing for strategic planning and concerted action.

At the event, the TESDA Misamis Occidental was unacknowledged as the 2023 Outstanding Provincial Office for Highest Certification Rate, reflecting the province's dedication to excellence in skills development.

Also, attendees reviewed the province's existing legislative amendments, scholarship implementation reports, and community training initiatives showcasing a holistic approach towards realizing Misamis Occidental's developmental aspirations.

Anchored with the province's 5M goals, Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malamboon, og Malipayon, the PTESDC Meeting embodied the collective determination to propel Misamis Occidental towards socioeconomic progress.

By harnessing collective expertise and resources, the committee aims to push for a future where skilled individuals can be the drivers for sustainable growth and can contribute to innovations.

In light of Misamis Occidental's goals towards achieving prosperity, the 1st PTESDC Meeting could be eyed as a testament to Governor Oaminal's visionary leadership, which sets the province's transformative and positive change in technical education and skills development. (PGMO)
