MisOcc Prov’l Gov’t to donate Health Education Materials to DEPED for Healthy Learning Institutions Campaign

Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental — In a move aimed at strengthening student health and well-being in local schools, the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental (PGMO) has formally transmitted the Deed of Donation and a letter request to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), seeking the passage of a resolution authorizing Governor Henry S. Oaminal to execute a Deed of Donation to the Department of Education (DEPED) Division of Misamis Occidental.

The donation, which includes essential health education materials, medicines, hygiene kits, and other medical supplies, forms a key part of the Healthy Learning Institutions (HLI) Campaign. This initiative is designed to improve health services and raise awareness in schools, with a focus on cultivating healthy habits among students and ensuring the overall wellness of learners and school personnel.

A total of ten (10) Last Mile Elementary Schools (LMES) have been identified as recipients of the initiative, namely: Singalat Elementary School in Calamba, Roxas Elementary School in Aloran, Naburos Elementary School in Baliangao, Gala Elementary School and Marugang Elementary School in Conception, Canibungan Putol Elementary School in Clarin, Manla Elementary School in Sapang Dalaga, Lake Duminagat Elementary School in Don Victoriano, Durias Elementary School in Bonifacio, and Alberto C. Dulalas Sr. Memorial Elementary School in Lopez Jaena.

The HLI campaign, jointly supported by the provincial government and the DEPED Division of Misamis Occidental, underscores the urgent need for a holistic approach to education—one that integrates both physical and mental health within the learning environment.

The donated items include, but are not limited to, printed health education modules, basic medicines, hygiene kits, and first-aid materials. These resources are to be used exclusively for the implementation of the HLI campaign in the identified schools.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan is expected to deliberate on the request, and upon approval, will authorize the Governor to officially carry out the transfer of these much-needed health supplies.

This initiative reflects the province's ongoing commitment to fostering a healthier, more inclusive educational system, aligned with national efforts to promote holistic child development and sustainable learning environments. (SN/PGMO)
