Historic Win: One Asenso MisOcc dominates NMRAA 2025 with record-breaking performance
Misamis Occidental has made history by winning the Overall
Championship at the 2025 Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association
(NMRAA) meet, marking the province’s first-ever victory in this prestigious
competition. Represented by One Asenso MisOcc, the province dominated
the event with an impressive 94 gold medals, bringing their total medal count
to 230, which also includes 77 silver and 59 bronze medals.
The final medal tally is as follows:
- Champion:
Misamis Occidental (One Asenso MisOcc) – 94 Gold, 77 Silver, 59 Bronze,
Total: 230

Place: Iligan (Voltz) – 74 Gold, 44 Silver, 69 Bronze, Total: 187
- 3rd
Place: Misamis Oriental (MisOr Masters) – 56 Gold, 67 Silver, 84
Bronze, Total: 206
- 4th
Place: Lanao del Norte (Sarimanok Racers) – 50 Gold, 50 Silver, 69
Bronze, Total: 169
- 5th
Place: Cagayan de Oro (Risers) – 47 Gold, 58 Silver, 79 Bronze, Total:

Governor Henry Oaminal expressed immense pride in the
athletes’ achievements, emphasizing that this victory is a testament to their
dedication, hard work, and discipline. To honor the athletes’ success, the
provincial government provided generous cash incentives: P50,000 for gold,
P30,000 for silver, and P20,000 for bronze for athletes from Misamis
Occidental. Athletes from other regions received P20,000, P15,000, and P10,000
for gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively.
Delegates also praised Misamis Occidental for its warm
hospitality and seamless hosting of the event. This victory not only elevates
Misamis Occidental’s standing in Northern Mindanao’s athletic community but
also showcases the province's growing commitment to sports development.
Athletes from outside the province also felt deeply valued.
Alson Villacampa Alburo, a Technical Official, shared his appreciation for the
province's support, saying, "In my entire tour of duty, this is the first
time I've felt true recognition for our hard work and dedication. Only here in
One Asenso Misamis Occidental do athletes and Technical Officials feel
genuinely appreciated."
Rews Morgia Magdadaro from the Division of Bukidnon also
expressed his gratitude for the incentives extended to non-local athletes.
"We truly felt the love and support for our student-athletes here.
Outstanding rating—100%. Only in One Asenso MisOcc. Daghang salamat,” he said.
This historic achievement highlights not only the athletic
excellence of Misamis Occidental but also the province’s strong commitment to
