A Day of Love and Unity: 188 couples celebrate new beginnings at Ozamiz’s 7th Kasalan ng Bayan

Bringing Love to Life: 188 Couples Unite in Ozamiz’s Grand Kasalan ng Bayan 2025.

Misamis Occidental---The Ozamiz City Government, led by Mayor Henry “Indy” Oaminal Jr., continues its commitment to strengthening families and fostering unity with the 7th Kasalan ng Bayan in February 2025.

In partnership with Asenso Pinoy and the support of Governor Henry S. Oaminal and Congressman Ando Oaminal, the event allowed 188 couples to marry, reflecting the city’s ongoing efforts to support its citizens and promote family values.

The Kasalan ng Bayan is a long-standing tradition, and this year’s ceremony provided the couples with several key benefits, including free bridal gowns, tuxedos for the grooms, professional hair and makeup services, and photo and prenup shoots. These contributions helped make the special day more meaningful.

In addition to the wedding services, Congressman Ando Oaminal provided food packs for the newlyweds, and each couple received a P1,000 coupon for a romantic dinner at Stufa d' Oro. Other gifts included a P3,000 shopping voucher from Gloria Bazaar, a wedding cake from Kiolo’s Dessert Cafe, and a P30,000 cash gift from the Asenso administration. These resources were designed to support the couples in starting their new lives together.

The oldest couple at the event, Alfredo Bolotano (71) and Elaine Saceda (68), received an extra P10,000 cash gift, as did Noel Jalem and Rea Janice Magsalay, who have been together for 18 years and have six children. Both couples were acknowledged for their long-term commitment and strong family values.

Couples from outside Misamis Occidental, including Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, and Lanao del Norte, also participated in the event, demonstrating the expanding reach of the Asenso Pinoy programs.

This year’s Kasalan ng Bayan reflects the Asenso Ozamiz administration’s focus on supporting families and improving the lives of its residents. (PGMO)
