2,862 grantees receive life-changing support through OFOP program in Misamis Occidental

Misamis Occidental – In a heartfelt ceremony at the Working Congressman Tudela Gymnasium, Governor Henry S. Oaminal, Vice Governor Rowena Gutierrez, and other local officials distributed P15,000 allowances to 2,862 beneficiaries under the One Family, One Professional (OFOP) program.

The October to December payouts were complemented by Christmas food packs, providing much-needed assistance to local families this holiday season.

The Asenso Pamilya program, a cornerstone of the province's commitment to education and empowerment, offers grantees the opportunity to pursue either vocational or tertiary education. Each beneficiary receives a P5,000 monthly stipend throughout the semester, amounting to a total of P25,000 per semester.

Governor Oaminal, a long-time advocate for education as a tool for societal progress, emphasized the importance of these programs in shaping a brighter future for Misamis Occidental.

“Investing in education is investing in the future of our province,” he said. “When we equip our people with the skills and knowledge they need, we are giving them the tools to succeed and break the cycle of poverty.”

In his speech, Gov. Oaminal reinforced his commitment to continuing these initiatives, highlighting that empowering individuals through education and professional development is key to long-term success.

“This initiative is about creating lasting opportunities for families to thrive,” he explained. “Through education and professional skills, we are ensuring that Misamisnon families can rise above challenges and build a better future for themselves.”

For many of the recipients, the ceremony was not only a moment of financial relief but also a symbol of hope. One recipient shared how the program would allow them to pursue vocational training, ultimately improving their skills and livelihood.

“This support will help me achieve my goals and provide a better future for my family,” he said.

Governor Oaminal’s leadership continues to inspire trust and optimism among the people of Misamis Occidental.

The OFOP program is a testament to his vision for a more prosperous, empowered community, and it is already making a tangible difference. Grantees are reporting improvements in their livelihoods and expressing deep gratitude for the opportunity to pursue education, gain new skills, and break free from the constraints of poverty.

As the province looks to the future, Governor Oaminal’s leadership and commitment to sustainable growth and community development remain steadfast, bringing hope to many and demonstrating the transformative power of education and opportunity. (SN/PGMO)
