Governor Oaminal honors teachers, champions education at 2024 Asenso Awards
MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL (PGMO)--Governor
Henry S. Oaminal, joined by distinguished leaders including 1st District
Representative Congressman Jason P. Almonte, Vice-Governor Rowena Gutierrez,
the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, Mayors, and DepEd-MisOcc Schools Division
Superintendent Reynaldo Manuel Jr., graced the 2024 Asenso Awards and Teacher’s
Day Celebration.
The event, which honored teachers
as the province's unsung heroes, highlighted their indispensable role in
shaping Misamis Occidental’s future.
Governor Oaminal emphasized the
significance of the event, This year’s celebration, themed “Sa Asensong
Probinsya, Magtutudlo, Pinangga Ka”, aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge
of teachers through sessions on financial literacy, career development, and
personal growth.
Governor Oaminal highlighted that
these topics align with the core message of the theme, emphasizing the vital
role teachers play as the "guides of progress.”
“Kamo nga mga magtutudlo ang
atong gabay sa pag-Asenso kay kamo man ang gigikanan sa kahibalo. Busa pinangga
jud mo dili lang nako kundili sa tanan nga provincial, city, and municipal
officials. Considered than a profession, teachers are regarded as the strongest
pillar of the society,” Governor Oaminal remarked. "Through your hard work
and dedication, we have achieved remarkable milestones in education and
sports."
He cited the province's success
in the recent Palarong Pampook in Camiguin, where Misamis Occidental garnered
an unprecedented 52 gold medals, and the achievement of Sibugon Integrated
School in Lopez Jaena, which ranked as the top 3 performing school in the 2023
National Achievement Test.
Governor Oaminal expressed his
heartfelt gratitude, saluting teachers for their unwavering dedication. “The
challenges you face today are far greater than before, but despite these, you
continue to inspire our youth. For that, you deserve not just gratitude but our
deepest respect and admiration,” he stated.
The Governor reaffirmed his
commitment to enhancing education, focusing on improving facilities, providing
more resources, and creating more opportunities for the youth.
He emphasized, “Investing in
education is investing in our future, and there is no better investment we can
make.”
In closing, Governor Oaminal
congratulated the Asenso Awardees, celebrating their dedication and drive for
excellence. “The path to progress is not easy, but through your perseverance,
you have proven that true success comes from hard work and a commitment to
making a difference,” he added.
As Misamis Occidental moves
forward, Governor Oaminal called upon everyone to embody the province's core
values and work together for a brighter and more prosperous future. He
concluded with a powerful message: “Success is not measured by individual accomplishments
