Misamis Occidental —The provincial government here and the Office of the President, hosted the impactful “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat” program. This notable event, held at three venues across the province, was part of a nationwide celebration marking President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s 67th birthday.

The initiative was launched simultaneously across the country, showcasing a unified effort by national government agencies (NGAs) to deliver essential support to communities. In Misamis Occidental, the program provided significant aid, reflecting the administration's commitment to addressing immediate needs while promoting long-term development.

In Ozamiz City, 970 sari-sari store owners and ambulant vendors were each awarded PHP 5,000 at the Ozamiz City Gymnasium. This support is part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening local businesses and assisting individuals facing economic challenges and natural calamities.

Another highlight was the distribution of PHP 5,000 each to 1,179 beneficiaries from the Barangay Peace Keeping Action Teams (BPATs) of Plaridel, Jimenez, Panaon, and Aloran. This event took place at the Plaridel Municipal Covered Court, emphasizing the importance of local peacekeepers in community development.

Additionally, PHP 5.5 million in wages was allocated through the TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers) program to 1,271 informal sector workers, underscoring the nationwide commitment to comprehensive government assistance.

Governor Henry Oaminal highlighted the significance of the program, saying, “This initiative transcends being just a program; it symbolizes unity and progress. President Marcos’s Bagong Pilipinas vision represents the government’s dedication to making public services more accessible and efficient, bringing vital support directly to the people.”

Governor Oaminal also reaffirmed the vision of Asenso Misamis Occidental, which aims to foster a peaceful, prosperous, and joyful community. This vision aligns with the Bagong Pilipinas principles, ensuring that national and local efforts work in harmony to meet the real needs of the people.

He urged all beneficiaries to fully utilize the opportunities provided and emphasized the importance of continued unity and collaboration in achieving common goals.

The governor extended his gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos for his exceptional leadership and to House Speaker Martin Romualdez for securing essential funding. “Today’s assistance is a testament to our government’s unwavering commitment to every Filipino. Let us continue to work together to realize our shared vision for a peaceful, prosperous, and happy Misamis Occidental,” Governor Oaminal concluded.

The success of the “Handog ng Pangulo” program was made possible through the dedicated efforts of local leaders, including Governor Oaminal, Second District Representative Sancho Fernando Oaminal, First District Representative Jason P. Almonte, mayors, board members, and provincial officials who worked tirelessly to ensure the aid reached those in need.

This initiative, in collaboration with various government agencies such as the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Department of Health (DOH), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), as well as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), highlights a nationwide effort to enhance the well-being of Filipino communities.
