Tano named new commander of 2nd PMFC
OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental—Police
Major Dennis Tano has been appointed as the new force commander of the 2nd
Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), succeeding PLTCOL. Roger Kent L. Andoy.
The formal turnover ceremony took place at the City Hall Session Hall on July
19, 2024.
Acting Provincial Director PCol Rommel B.
Magleo presided over the ceremony, where PLTCol Roger Kent L. Andoy officially
handed over responsibilities to Police Major Dennis Tano.
Governor Henry S. Oaminal attended the
event, expressing his full support for the 2nd PMFC and announcing a token of
appreciation, including a minimum of P5,000 in cash assistance for all PMFC
personnel and officers.
Tano expressed his gratitude to MisOcc
Provincial Police Director PCol. Rommel B. Magleo for entrusting him with the
leadership of the 2nd PMFC. He assured his predecessor of his commitment to
lead the force effectively and thanked Governor Oaminal, 2nd District Rep.
Oaminal, and Mayor Indy Oaminal for their continued support of the PNP.
"I hope the good governor will not
tire of supporting the PNP organization despite our lapses and shortcomings.
Rest assured, I will use the full force of the law with my able men and women
to secure all Misamisnons, especially in the second district of Misamis
Occidental," Tano stated.
Tano pledged to ensure that the force
remains visible and active in law enforcement operations, not only in high-risk
national areas but also in hinterland barangays, in support of the efforts of
city and municipal police stations.
"As the new force commander for the
2nd PMFC, I expect my men to handle top and strenuous operations," he
added.
During the ceremony, Andoy congratulated
Tano on his new role, recognizing him as a competent leader.
"I have high regard, trust, and
confidence in you. I expect that you will continue the best practices,
programs, and introduce innovations for the personnel and the community,"
said Andoy.
The PMFC serves as a mobile reaction unit
or strike force of the Provincial Police Office (PPO), augmenting provincial
and police stations in the province in anti-criminality operations. (SN/PGMO)
