Governor Oaminal boosts agricultural support for over 9,000 rice farmers in MisOcc
MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL — Governor
Henry S. Oaminal is making a significant impact on local agriculture by
ensuring essential assistance reaches rice farmers across the province. His
commitment aims to bolster the agricultural sector, providing financial aid and
fertilizers to over 9,000 eligible farmers from various cities and towns,
including Ozamiz, Plaridel, Conception, Sapang Dalaga, Tudela, Sinacaban,
Tangub City, Jimenez, Calamba, Concepcion, Lopez Jaena, Panaon, Clarin,
Baliangao, Oroquieta City, Aloran, and Bonifacio.
Governor Oaminal’s initiative
includes P5,000 in cash assistance through the Rice Farmers Financial
Assistance (RFFA) program from the Department of Agriculture and additional
complete fertilizers from the provincial government. This support is crucial as
farmers prepare for the July to August wet cropping season.
Governor Oaminal emphasized the
provincial government's extensive agricultural support, stating, "Ang

Highlighting the province's
recent agricultural success, Governor Oaminal noted that Misamis Occidental's
last harvest season exceeded expectations with an overall yield of 5.3 metric
tons per hectare, surpassing the national average of 4.9 metric tons.

This vital support is distributed
to different municipalities and cities, assisting farmers who are not yet
registered in accessing their aid and registration cards. It aims to boost crop
yields, increase farmer incomes, and drive economic growth. Additionally, the
provincial government is providing free farm equipment to reduce production
costs for farmers.
