Governor Oaminal distributes 100 rescue vehicles to 15 LGUs, demonstrating impressive financial management
Misamis Occidental — In a significant demonstration of impressive
financial management, Governor Henry S. Oaminal distributed 100 brand-new
rescue vehicles to 15 local government units (LGUs) in Misamis Occidental. This
initiative, made possible through the prudent handling of provincial finances,
underscores the commitment to enhancing emergency response capabilities and
bolstering local health services across the province.
The recipients of the rescue vehicles include: Aloran (5), Baliangao (5),
Jimenez (7), Plaridel (5), Clarin (15), Oroquieta City (6), Concepcion (6),
Calamba (1), Lopez Jaena (1), Tangub City (20), Panaon (6), Sinacaban (2), Don
Victoriano (2), and Sapang Dalaga (14).
During the turnover ceremony held on Friday, June 14, at the Asenso Misamis
Occidental Sports and Cultural Center, Governor Oaminal emphasized the critical
need for such vehicles during emergencies, disasters, and calamities. He urged
the recipients to maintain and use the equipment properly.
“Adunay 490 ka barangays ang atong probinsya. Na deliver na nato ang first
300 ug ang ika-400 karong adlawa in the 11 months of the Asenso Administration.
Ang atong provincial government in 2 years time naka allocate ug P440 million
for the procurement of vehicles,” Governor Oaminal stated.
In an interview, Oroquieta City Mayor Lemuel Meyrick Acosta expressed his
gratitude, highlighting the project's impact on delivering essential services
to the community. Barangay Captain Ambisionado C. Gabrinez Jr. from Barangay
Lumipac, Baliangao, also shared his thanks, noting how the new vehicle
addresses residents' needs during emergencies, especially calamities. “Dako
kaayo nig ikatabang sa among barangay kay dugay na kaayo nangandoy ang mga tao
nga naa’y problema dili nami maglisod og pangita ug sakyanan para madala ang
amoang katawhan nga na hospital ug kinsa man gani ang nanginahanglan,” he said.
Landing Barangay Captain Nelson Gumahag echoed this sentiment, saying, “Salamat
kaayo Gov sa imong gihatag nga rescue vehicles sa among barangay.”
These new units are part of the fourth batch of rescue vehicles distributed
by the provincial government. The next batch of vehicles will soon be given to
other beneficiaries.
The funding for these transport vehicles came from the provincial government
with support from the 1st and 2nd Districts of Misamis Occidental. This
distribution aligns with the provincial government's programs on peace and
order, health, agriculture, tourism, education, and sports, aiming to empower
village officials to efficiently deliver basic services to their constituents.
