DSWD-10 grants P15,000 livelihood assistance to 238 beneficiaries in MisOcc
Misamis Occidental— The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-10, in
partnership with the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental, has granted
P15,000 each to 238 beneficiaries affected by last year’s shear line in the
province. This initiative is part of the DSWD's Sustainable Livelihood Program
(SLP) and aims to enhance the socio-economic status of the beneficiaries. The
recipients include 40 beneficiaries from Aloran, 40 from Jimenez, 51 from
Clarin, 43 from Sinacaban, and 50 from Oroquieta City.
The Sustainable Livelihood Program is a
capacity-building initiative designed to provide livelihood settlement grants,
thereby improving the economic stability of its beneficiaries.
DSWD-10 Assistant Regional Director for
Operations, Ardo Ronald Ryan R. Cui, emphasized the importance of the
partnership and collaboration between the provincial government and local
government units in making this initiative possible.
"Gov. Henry S. Oaminal, daghang salamat
from DSWD sa imong suporta, guidance nga ma hapsay ang implementation sa mga
programa sa DSWD diri sa probinsya sa Misamis Occidental. I’m confident that we
can contribute sa programa sa Misamis Occidental under Gov. Oaminal sa
pag-asenso sa MisOcc,’’ expressed Cui.
Before releasing the grants, project
development officers conducted extensive capacity-building sessions to ensure
beneficiaries can manage and sustain their livelihoods effectively. ARD Cui
urged the beneficiaries to use the grants wisely and to maintain their capital,
highlighting the continuous support and guidance provided by the SLP.

Governor Oaminal acknowledged the DSWD's
assistance and reiterated his commitment to supporting the province's economic
development.
In an interview, Jimmy Galbano, a resident of
Pan-ay, Clarin town, expressed his gratitude for the program. “Dako nakong
pasalamat kay natagaan gyud ko ug puhonan para sa among manokan, para sa among
panginabuhi kay naa pod koy upat ka siblings nga giatiman. Kini dako gyud kaayo
ug katabang kanamo. Daghan kaayong salamat sa DSWD ug ni Governor Henry S.
Oaminal,” he shared.
This initiative underscores the collaborative
efforts of the DSWD and the Misamis Occidental provincial government to uplift
