Road opening project in Tudela fulfills dreams of local community

TUDELA, Misamis Occidental--A collaborative effort between the Engineering Brigade, the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental under Governor Henry S. Oaminal's leadership, and LGU Tudela headed by Mayor Samuel Parojinog, has led to the successful turnover of the road opening project at Barangay Gala, Tudela town, on May 6, 2024, fulfilling the dreams of the local community.

The once inaccessible road is now open to the public, facilitating smoother transportation and improved connectivity. Moreover, the project has contributed to a decline in insurgency activities and enhanced the delivery of vital government services and goods to the area.

The project involved the construction of a 640-linear meter access road from Barangay Mitugas to the Barangay Gala boundary.

Governor Henry S. Oaminal emphasized the multifaceted benefits of road improvement, stating, "Road development not only fosters economic growth for residents but also addresses issues of peace and order, particularly concerning insurgency."

He further emphasized, "When the road begins, the insurgency ends. Hence, our endeavor to pave rural roads is primarily aimed at promoting peace and development."

The residents of Gala and Mitugas have long suffered from the lack of proper access, hindering their daily lives and economic opportunities.

Gala Barangay Captain Joleto Tabata expressed gratitude to all parties involved, acknowledging the significant positive impact of the project on the local community.

“I am immensely grateful to the provincial government of Misamis Occidental, headed by Governor Henry Oaminal, Congressman Ando Oaminal, LGU Tudela Mayor Samuel Parojinog, and the Philippine Army for addressing the needs of our barangay and paving the way for our progress. Today's event is a testament to answered prayers, providing our barangay with a well-constructed road, which alleviates the struggles our residents once faced."

This project, executed under the Engineer Civic Action Program (ENCAP), was a joint effort involving the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental, LGU Tudela, 10th Infantry Battalion, 102nd Infantry Brigade, 54th Engineering Battalion, and 547th Engineering Brigade. These units provided vital engineering support, promoting tourism, enhancing road connectivity, uplifting economic status, and fostering infrastructural development within the community. (SN/PGMO)
