P50K reward for every NMRAA gold won by Misamisnon athletes

 

One MisOcc Para Swimmer athlete to make a splash in the upcoming NMRAA 2024


Misamis Occidental--One Asenso MisOcc athletes are gearing up for the Palarong Pambansa 2023, where they can claim a substantial cash incentive of P50,000 for every gold medal they achieve during the NMRAA 2024 in Camiguin.

Governor Henry S. Oaminal announced during the sendoff ceremony that the province will give a cash reward of P50,000 for each NMRAA gold medalist.

"I am pleased to announce that for every gold medal you achieve, you will receive a cash reward of P50,000, for silver medalists, there is a reward of P20,000, and for bronze medalists, you will still receive P10,000," he announced.

He further commended the athletes for their dedication and expressed confidence in their ability to succeed in their challenging mission.

The athletes participating in sports such as athletics, swimming, and gymnastics, which have more medal opportunities, stand to earn more incentives.

Hyuna Brie R. Camacho, a swimmer athlete, who won 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze in the regional meet in 2023 and 7 medals in the provincial meet in 2024, expressed her gratitude for the support provided by the Governor.

"Thank you, Gov, for all the support, especially for our swimsuits, goggles, and caps. Also, thank you for supporting our training and allowing us to come here early to train well and get used to the swimming pool here," she shared. She also expressed her excitement about the incentives, stating, "We are really ready, my aim is to win in the games, and we are motivated by the cash incentives provided by the Governor."

Rodrigo Tancogo Jr., the coach of the swimming team, stated, "At present, our athletes are fully prepared and committed to competing 100% in the NMRAA this May 13.

The assurance given by Governor Henry Oaminal of P50,000 to the kids has also boosted their motivation to aim for the gold."

"All I can do is give my best to the kids who will compete, and I am hopeful that they may get the opportunity to win medals. Thank you very much for the support for the athletes, as they are treated exceptionally well and provided with everything they need," Tancogo added.

"To the athletes, give your best, Go for Gold," he concluded.

The One Misamis Occidental contingent makes up more than 1,000 delegates, making them a significant presence at the Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) 2024. (SN/PGMO)
