Gov. Oaminal secures ₱60 million budget for OFOP program from Speaker Romualdez
OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental—Governor Henry S. Oaminal
secured additional funding worth ₱60 million for the One Family, One
Professional (OFOP) program and an additional ₱15 million for farmers during
his visit to House Speaker Martin Romualdez in Manila.
"We are working hard to find ways to increase the
number of scholars in the next semester.
Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon," Governor Oaminal emphasized.
He shared that the current budget of ₱100 million from local
funds is insufficient to maintain the current 3,200 OFOP scholars. Given the
desire to increase this number, the budget falls even shorter if the province
adds more scholars.
said.
Gov Oaminal expressed gratitude to Speaker Romualdez for his unwavering support towards the programs of the provincial government.
Governor Oaminal also personally interacts with the grantees to
provide inspiration. He underscored the importance of proper preparation for
He also highlighted the province's dedication to the One
Family, One Professional program, saying, "We are very focused and serious
about our One Family, One Professional program, ensuring you graduate. If you
graduate, your chances of employment increase, and with a job, you earn an
income. This not only helps you but also boosts the economy of our province and
our nation."
Governor Oaminal mentioned the program's goal to increase
the number of graduates. Upon assuming office and launching the program, they
conducted an inventory and found that there were 18,000 families in Misamis
Occidental without a single child who had completed their education. (SN/PGMO)
