Remote households in Clarin town now enjoy electricity
CLARIN, Misamis Occidental--Lighting the villages, especially in the remote areas of Clarin town, was just a dream for the residents before. Lack of electric power supply, under-developed road network, slow development in the area, and insurgency infestations are just some of the many concerns of the residents, which they thought they had to just live with. However, with the sitio electrification program of the government, an insurgency-free province, and road infrastructure development spearheaded by Governor Henry Oaminal, people’s dreams have become a reality.
The hopes and aspirations of
residents for access to electricity were realized as Working Governor Henry S.
Oaminal, alongside National Electrification Administration (NEA) Deputy
Administrator Omar M. Mayo, MOELCI-II and other officials, led the energization and
switch-on ceremony for 23 sitios, benefiting 683 households under the Sitio
Electrification Program of NEA, marked a significant milestone for the
community.
This initiative included 9 sitios
in Clarin, with 4 in Dalingap, Bernad, Penacio, Pan-ay, Gata Dako, and
Poblacion 4, totaling 199 households. The event, held at Purok 3, Bernad,
Clarin, Misamis Occidental on April 5, symbolized progress and development for
these previously underserved areas.
Governor Oaminal stressed to
program beneficiaries that the government prioritizes remote barangays,
pagmahal sa inyong Mayor nga wala gyud mo makalimti dinhi and that is part of
the team Asenso nga as much as possible the whole Misamis Occidental will be
100% energize.
He further urged continued
support and collaboration, highlighting the joint efforts of the government and
MOELCI II to bring services closer to far-flung barangays.
The fund allocated for the Sitio
Electrification Program is part of the 2022 General Appropriation Act, approved
during Governor Oaminal's tenure as Congressman.
Meanwhile, Deputy Administrator
Mayo recognized Governor Henry Oaminal for funding numerous sites to illuminate
previously unlit areas of District II during his tenure as Congressman.
He emphasized the importance of
utilizing and appreciating such government projects, urging beneficiaries to
comply with safety regulations and payment obligations.
On behalf of Barangay Bernad, Captain
Eugene Pata expressed gratitude for the development in his place, including the
long-time dream of having electricity in every household.
nimo mahibal-an nga naa bay balay sa daplin tungod kay ngit-ngit gyud kaayo so
This initiative aligns with the government's mission to extend electricity to rural areas, fostering progress and sustainable development.(SN/PGMO)
