DOH-10 turns over P27-M check to MisOcc gov’t for medical aid to indigents
TUDELA, Misamis Occidental—The Department of Health (DOH)-10, headed by Director Dr. Sulpicio Henry Legaspi, has recently turned over a substantial contribution of ₱27 million to the provincial government of Misamis Occidental, led by Governor Henry Oaminal. This funding is designated to provide medical assistance to indigent patients in the province.
The Medical Assistance for
Indigent Patients (MAIP) fund aims to offer financial support to individuals
who are unable to afford medical expenses. Through this program, indigent
patients will receive the necessary aid to access healthcare services.
Dr. Legaspi emphasized that the
fund would primarily support the province’s Medical Assistance for Indigent
Patients (MAIP) program. This initiative aligns with Governor Oaminal's vision
to improve healthcare delivery systems in Misamis Occidental, emphasizing the
importance of supporting local government initiatives.
“As part of our support, the
Department of Health will deploy five doctors to various level 1 hospitals in
Misamis Occidental. This demonstrates our commitment to prioritizing the
healthcare needs of residents, especially those in remote barangays,” Dr. Legaspi
stated during the Provincial Health Board meeting.
The ongoing construction of the
Asenso Misamis Occidental Medical Center signifies progress towards enhancing
healthcare services in the province. Governor Oaminal's dedication to
prioritizing medical equipment, particularly for chemo dialysis, underscores
his commitment to improving healthcare facilities.
Governor Oaminal expressed his
gratitude to the Department of Health for the financial assistance,
highlighting its significant impact on the people of Misamis Occidental. These
additional funds will strengthen the governor's commitment to providing free
hospitalization programs for residents.
The DOH extends its appreciation
to Governor Oaminal for his unwavering support of healthcare programs in the
province, acknowledging the substantial impact of these initiatives on the
well-being of Misamisnons. (SN/PGMO)
