Gov. Oaminal pushes for development thru transformative governance

 


Working Governor Henry S. Oaminal is pushing for more development programs through transformative governance for the Misamisnons. This was transpired as the Working Governor Henry S. Oaminal and other governors from Regions 10 and 13, along with key government agencies, convened in a meeting with Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity of the Philippines, held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City, Metro Manila on February 26.

During the meeting, Governor Oaminal presented his transformation program plan for the province of Misamis Occidental and shared the progress milestones that the province has achieved under his administration.

Governor Oaminal's vision in 2025 is for a province where Misamisnons live peacefully, progressively, and happily. The governor emphasized the importance of the convergence areas for the peace and development program, which serve as a banner program to address the root causes of insurgencies, internal disturbances, and tensions, and other armed conflicts and threats for inclusive development.

Under Gov. Oaminal, Misamis Occidental has made great strides in infrastructure, agriculture, education, tourism, sports, health services, employment, economy, and labor and employment and other services.

The Asenso administration aim to ensure that at least 90 percent of the Misamisnons live above the poverty line within the next three years. Misamis Occidental will become insurgency-free and drug-free, organized crime-free. In the next three years, Asenso Misamis Occidental will become a tourism destination, and agriculture and investment hub of Mindanao.

The governor’s commitment to the development of Misamis Occidental has led to the provision of financial assistance and food packs to insurgency-conflicted affected families. His engagement in local implementation has resulted in proactive initiatives and programs that vigorously pursue to foster sustainable peace development and ultimately transform the province into an insurgency-free province.

The assembly was a crucial step towards realizing the governor's vision of a transformed Misamis Occidental and ensuring the well-being of former rebels in the province. Gov. Oaminal's leadership and vision have brought hope and progress to the province, and the Governor and his Team Asenso remain committed to achieving the 5Ms of Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon, ug Malipayon.
