Misamis Occidental showcases scenic routes, signature hospitality, and local delicacies in warm welcome for Northern Mindanao Loop 2025 Riders



Misamis Occidental led by Governor Henry S. Oaminal, Ozamiz City Mayor and Congressman-elect Henry “Indy” Oaminal Jr., and Tangub City Vice Mayor Tito Decena warmly welcomed Senator JV Ejercito, motorcycle tourism ambassador Jet Lee Cabarubbias, and dozens of riders participating in the Northern Mindanao Loop 2025, showcasing the province’s signature hospitality and full support for motorcycle tourism.

The event marks a significant milestone in the province’s drive to position itself as a premier destination for tourism, culture, and adventure in the country.

The ride, organized by LOOP.PH in partnership with the Tourism Promotions Board under the Philippine Motorcycle Tourism Series and the Department of Tourism – Region 10, spotlighted Misamis Occidental as a key stop in the Northern Mindanao route.

Riders experienced the province’s stunning landscapes and cultural highlights, visiting key destinations such as the Asenso Global Gardens, Cotta Fort, Asenso Ozamiz Wellness Park, Tudela Highland Resort and Eco Park, and sampling the province’s famed delicacy—Clarin Suman.

Governor Oaminal emphasized that this event reflects Misamis Occidental’s commitment to promoting tourism and sustainable development: “We want the rest of the country to see what Misamis Occidental has to offer—breathtaking views, rich culture, and the signature hospitality of the Misamisnons. Events like this open doors to more investment, tourism, and lasting progress.”

As part of the broader Asenso Misamis Occidental vision, the province continues to elevate its tourism profile while enhancing road safety, connectivity, and local livelihood opportunities through partnerships with national agencies and private organizations.

Ombudsman dismisses Dumanjug’s complaint vs. Misamis Occidental Officials over alleged illegal suspension

Misamis Occidental — The Office of the Ombudsman has dismissed the criminal and administrative complaints filed by former Bonifacio Mayor Samson Dumanjug and former Vice Mayor Evelyn Dumanjug against Misamis Occidental Governor Henry S. Oaminal and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), which includes Vice Governor Rowena Gutierrez and 14 board members. The dismissal was dated February 7, 2025, and officially released on July 4, 2025. The complaint stemmed from SP Administrative Case No. 02-22, where the Dumanjugs were accused of overpricing and dishonesty in the procurement of surplus heavy equipment. After an SP-led investigation, a 60-day preventive suspension was recommended and implemented by Governor Oaminal through Special Order No. HSO-055 on October 5, 2022.   MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL, June 4, 2025 — In a historic move to boost the income of local farmers and reduce their production costs, the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental officially inaugurated its first state-of-the-art Rice Processing System under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) program. Located in Barangay Santa Cruz, Tangub City, and Barangay Buenavista, Oroquieta City, the newly established facilities mark a historic milestone for the province’s agricultural sector. These modern facilities are now offering free rice milling and drying services to all local farmers, significantly reducing production costs and boosting farmer income.
