In a stunning and emotional
triumph that will be etched into the province’s history books, Misamis
Occidental has officially clinched its first-ever overall championship title in
the 2025 Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) Meet—an
unprecedented feat that captured the heart of the region and ignited a new era
of pride and unity.
With a staggering 94 gold, 77
silver, and 59 bronze medals, Team Misamis Occidental delivered a performance
for the ages—one that shattered records, exceeded expectations, and transformed
dreams into reality.
A Victory of a Lifetime
“This is more than just a win.
This is a defining moment—a testament to the strength of our youth, the power
of unity, and the unstoppable spirit of Misamis Occidental,” declared Governor
Henry S. Oaminal during a powerful post-victory speech. “This triumph is not
only about medals; it is about believing in ourselves and rising together.”
The Governor lauded the
relentless determination of every athlete, coach, and supporter behind the One
Asenso Misamis Occidental team, calling them “champions not only of the field,
but of the province’s future.”

Governor Oaminal extended
heartfelt thanks to the key leaders who stood as pillars of this milestone,
including Congressman Jason P. Almonte of the 1st District, Congressman Sancho
Fernando F. Oaminal of the 2nd District, Vice Governor Rowena L. Gutierrez, the
members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, city and municipal mayors, as well as
the DepEd leaders, coaches, trainers, and the NMRAA 2025 working committees
