Misamis Occidental inaugurates P25M 2nd PMFC building in Ozamiz: a symbol of unity and support for public safety

Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental—Misamis Occidental marked a significant milestone with the completion of the P25 million 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) Standard Building in Sitio Linabo, Brgy. Bañadero, Ozamiz City. The event was led by Governor Henry S. Oaminal, 2nd District Rep. Ando Oaminal, and Ozamiz Mayor Henry “Indy” Oaminal Jr., represented by incoming Mayor Sam Norman Fuentes, with PBGen. Jaysen De Guzman as a special guest. This serves as a testament to the province’s unwavering support for the Philippine National Police (PNP) and its commitment to ensuring public safety.

A New Era of Police Support and Service

PBGen De Guzman expressed his profound appreciation for the province’s leadership, acknowledging that Misamis Occidental is the first in Region 10 to have a standard police provincial office building. He also highlighted the province’s pivotal role in securing the first titled lot for the Provincial Police Office (PPO) and the new 2nd PMFC building.

“Misamis Occidental has been incredibly supportive of the PNP. This building is a testament to how much the local government values the safety and well-being of its citizens,” said De Guzman. He stressed the importance of treating the new building as a home, urging the police to maintain the facility and continue to serve with honesty and dedication.

Governor Oaminal’s Vision for Progress

Governor Henry Oaminal emphasized the vital role the PNP plays in maintaining the province’s safety, explaining that the construction of the building was part of a broader effort to strengthen the police force and equip them with the necessary tools to serve and protect. “We support the PNP because we understand the importance of your work in safeguarding our people. We place our trust in you, and we will continue to support you in your mission,” Oaminal stated.

He also outlined his administration’s vision for the province: “Our goal is to achieve Asenso Ozamiz, Asenso Misamis Occidental—progress that ensures the people of Misamis Occidental live in a peaceful, prosperous, and happy community.”

A Testament to Collaboration and Dedication

Rep. Ando Oaminal shared the story behind the project, which was initiated in 2022. He revealed that the building secured an initial P10 million in funding from Gov. Oaminal. Through collaborative efforts, an additional P15 million was allocated by Cong. Oaminal to enhance the structure, bringing the total cost to P25 million. This funding reflects the leadership and dedication of Misamis Occidental’s leaders.

“This building is a symbol of unity and cooperation among all stakeholders in the province. It’s not just about the structure; it’s about the collective effort to provide our police force with the resources they need to serve our people,” said Rep. Oaminal.

The building’s modern design includes air-conditioned rooms, fully furnished spaces, and amenities such as beds, cabinets, refrigerators, and dining tables—all provided by the local government of Ozamiz City under the leadership of Mayor Indy Oaminal.

Ensuring Long-Term Commitment to Service

The ceremony also served as a reminder of the responsibilities that come with this new facility. Governor Oaminal and Representative Oaminal both urged the PNP to continue their commitment to service and integrity, honoring the trust the people of Misamis Occidental have placed in them. “The people of the 2nd District trust you with their lives. It’s important that we all work together to keep our communities safe and thriving,” said Rep. Oaminal. (SN/PGMO)
