celebrated a remarkable economic milestone with a per capita GDP of ₱199,106,
ranking 5th among the 82 provinces in the Philippines. This achievement
highlights the province’s growing economic strength and its vital contribution
to Northern Mindanao’s development.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
measures the total value of goods and services produced in a region, while per
capita GDP reflects the average income or output per person. A higher per
capita GDP often signifies better living standards and increased wealth for
residents.
In 2023, Misamis Occidental’s
economy grew by 6.7%, among the highest in Northern Mindanao. Key industries
like transportation, accommodation, food services, and public administration
fueled this growth. Notably, the province’s industrial sector expanded by 9.7%,
the fastest in the region.
