Governor Oaminal champions P125M Farm-to-Market Road project for Misamis Occidental's progress
Misamis Occidental – In a bold step toward agricultural advancement and rural development, Governor Henry Oaminal has secured Php 125 million in funding for a crucial Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) project in Misamis Occidental. The Department of Agriculture–Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP Scale-Up) approved the project on January 10, 2025, for the construction of the 12.32-kilometer Panalsalan-Cartegana-Luzaran-Dampalan-Macalibre Alto FMR, which will benefit the municipalities of Lopez Jaena and Plaridel.
The approval, formalized through
the issuance of a No Objection Letter (NOL) from DA-PRDP, marks a significant
milestone in the province’s infrastructure development.
Governor Oaminal’s tireless
advocacy for this FMR project reflects his unwavering commitment to advancing
the province's infrastructure, particularly in rural areas. He shared his
enthusiasm about the impact of the project, saying, “This is a vital step in
improving the lives of our farmers and residents. It strengthens our vision of
creating a prosperous, peaceful, and thriving Misamis Occidental.”
Once completed, the FMR will
dramatically improve access to agricultural areas, enabling farmers to
transport goods more efficiently to markets. This will enhance agricultural
productivity, stimulate local economies, and improve the livelihoods of rural communities.
The project is a key component of Governor Oaminal's development agenda, Asenso
Misamis Occidental, aimed at fostering long-term economic growth and
sustainability for the province.
The governor congratulated
the people of Lopez Jaena and Plaridel for being the primary beneficiaries of
the project, acknowledging their role in the success of this initiative. “I
worked hard to ensure that this project, and others like it, will faithfully
address the needs of our farm-to-market roads across the different
municipalities of the province,” he said.
Governor Oaminal’s leadership continues to pave the way for further infrastructure advancements, as there are three additional projects currently being evaluated by the DA for implementation this year. These include: The concreting of the Sinara Bajo-Sinara Alto-Dinas FMR, worth Php 246,631,934.68, concreting of the San Isidro-Matugas Alto-Malibacsan FMR, worth Php 401,586,632.75 and the concreting of the Landing-Lusot-Magsaysay-Del Pilar FMR, worth 142,620,695.58
The approval of the
Panalsalan-Cartegana-Luzaran-Dampalan-Macalibre Alto FMR is a testament to
Governor Oaminal's relentless commitment to rural development. As the province
moves forward with these transformative infrastructure projects, his leadership
continues to drive progress, enhancing the lives of Misamis Occidental’s
residents, particularly those in farming communities. (SN/PGMO)
