Governor Henry Oaminal’s strategic leadership drives remarkable development in Misamis Occidental
Misamis Occidental —
Governor Henry Oaminal’s leadership continues to spark significant progress
across the province of Misamis Occidental, with his commitment to both social
welfare and economic growth reaching new heights in late 2024. His relentless
efforts in fulfilling the provincial vision of Asenso Misamis Occidental
have driven numerous projects aimed at improving the lives of the people in his
jurisdiction.
One of the governor's most
impactful initiatives in recent months was the successful launch of a series of
Pamaskong Handog programs, providing essential aid during the Christmas
season. These initiatives not only aimed to ease the burden of those most in
need but also highlighted the innovative approach Oaminal has taken in
fostering inclusive and sustainable development.
On December 17, despite a long
journey from Manila, Governor Oaminal remained undeterred in his mission to
visit Don Victoriano and personally lead the annual Pamaskong Handog.
The event marked another significant milestone in his efforts to spread holiday
cheer throughout the province. More than 300,000 residents from cities and
municipalities were beneficiaries of essential food packs, cash gifts, and the Asenso
Pinoy Card, a unique government-backed initiative that empowers individuals
and families to participate in ongoing economic advancement programs.
“Sa atong panaghiusa, nakab-ot
nato ang pag-Asenso sa atong Barangay, sa atong dakbayan ug sa atong Probinsya.
Karon, atong ipadayon ang atong panaghigalaay, panaghigugmaay para ato gyud
makab-ot ang hingpit nga pag-Asenso nga dili lang cementado ang atong karsada
kundi ngadto paingon sa pamuyo sa tao.”
Governor Oaminal expressed his
gratitude to the people of Don Victoriano for their unwavering support and
commitment to unity, believing that this is key to achieving the province’s
vision of shared prosperity. The Asenso Pinoy Card represents not just a
symbol of support but also an avenue for residents to benefit from sustainable
economic programs, helping to increase financial independence in the province.
Later that same day, the governor
continued his campaign of hope and development in Tangub City and the
municipality of Bonifacio, where he personally distributed similar assistance
packages and informed the public about new infrastructure and social programs
designed to drive the province forward. His speeches emphasized the importance
of community cooperation and the critical role of local leadership in
sustaining growth and progress.
Beyond Christmas giveaways,
Governor Oaminal’s focus is on long-term development. He has been instrumental
in leading several key initiatives, including infrastructure improvements,
agricultural support, and the creation of local job opportunities. His Asenso
team has worked closely with other government agencies, such as the Department
of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), to ensure the efficient implementation of
vital infrastructure projects that will provide immediate relief while securing
the province’s long-term sustainability.
Additionally, Oaminal’s
collaboration with Congressman Ando Oaminal and other local leaders aims to
create a more robust local economy, with a particular emphasis on small
businesses and the agricultural sector. This collective effort has led to a
surge in local revenue, demonstrating the success of the province’s cooperative
governance model.
A notable highlight of Governor
Oaminal’s strategy is his emphasis on education and healthcare. His
administration continues to provide scholarships and medical support for
underprivileged families, ensuring that no one is left behind in the province’s
development. The integration of technology into health services and educational
facilities promises to enhance the quality of life for Misamis Occidental
residents, addressing long-standing needs with modern solutions.
On December 18, Governor Oaminal
welcomed senatorial candidate Luis “Manong” Chavit Singson to the province for
a solidarity event that underscored the importance of national and local
collaboration. Singson’s initiatives, including a Universal Basic Income
program and support for local businesses, were well-received and complement the
provincial government’s ongoing efforts.
Governor Oaminal’s approach to
governance has led to tangible improvements in security, disaster resilience,
and economic growth, positioning Misamis Occidental as one of the most
prosperous provinces in the region. Under his leadership, the province recently
achieved 66.49% revenue growth, highlighting the evolving economic landscape.
Furthermore, his administration has been recognized for achieving an insurgency-free
status, earning accolades for its peace and order efforts as well as disaster
risk management.
With these accomplishments, the
governor continues to encourage his constituents to embrace unity and hard work
as essential ingredients for success. As Governor Oaminal often emphasizes,
“The strength of a province lies in the strength of its people.” With his clear
vision and dedication to progress, it is evident that the future of Misamis
Occidental is brighter than ever.
As 2025 unfolds, the people of
Misamis Occidental remain hopeful and inspired by the leadership of Governor
Henry Oaminal, whose programs and initiatives continue to shape the province’s
promising future. (SN/PGMO)
