Ozamiz City fire victims receive P55k financial aid from gov’t officials

OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental—Eight families from the barangays of Tinago, Labo, Liposong, Gotocan Diot, and Gala, whose houses were devastated by fire, received financial assistance from national and local officials during a heartfelt gathering at the Ozamiz City Hall.

Governor Henry S. Oaminal, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the representation of Congressman Ando Oaminal, Mayor Indy Oaminal, and the Asenso Ozamiz administration personally extended a total of ₱55,000 in financial assistance to each of the eight affected families. This support aims to help them recover from the unfortunate incident.

Additionally, the Godiz family in Tinago, who tragically lost three members in the Green Valley fire, received an extra ₱30,000 from Governor Oaminal and the provincial government. The beneficiaries also received food packs from the Ozamiz and MisOcc local government units (LGUs) and the DSWD.

In his compassionate message, Governor Oaminal said,”Dili ta mawad-an ug paglaum, atong paningkamotan nga bisag nia ni ang maong katalagman, mobangon ta, ug sa inyong pagbangon, kauban ninyo inyong mga officials, nia mi para pag serbisyo kaninyo,” Gov. Oaminal said

(We must not lose hope. Despite this calamity, we will rise again, and in your journey to recovery, you are not alone. Your officials are here to serve you.)

(We want you to feel that your leaders in the government are always here for you, constantly looking out for your needs. We understand the magnitude of your loss, and while we cannot replace what you’ve lost overnight, we extend our sincere and heartfelt assistance to you."

This initiative aims to expedite the aid process, supporting the affected families in rebuilding their lives.(SN/PGMO)
