2,497 motorcab drivers in MisOcc benefit from government's AKAP program
OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental —
The Misamis Occidental government, led by Governor Henry Oaminal and 2nd
District Representative Sancho "Ando" Oaminal, in partnership with
local mayors and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD),
spearheaded the nationwide launch of the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program
(AKAP). This national initiative, under the leadership of President Ferdinand
"Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. and Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez,
took place on Saturday at the Ozamiz City Gym.
In District 2, over 2,497
motorcab drivers received financial assistance of PHP 3,000 each to help meet
their daily needs. This support is part of a broader government effort to
provide immediate financial relief to those in need.
Governor Henry Oaminal expressed
his gratitude and outlined the vision for the province. He emphasized the
importance of helping those with insufficient income to achieve a prosperous
life.
"Kita dinhi sa atong probinsya, swerte
kita kaayo kay sa atong vision nga pag-Asenso, makita nato kini sa pamuyo sa
mga tawo. Ang klase sa pag-Asenso nga atong makita mao ang Misamisnon Magpuyong
Malinawon, Malambuon, ug Malipayon. Para magpuyong malambuon, gikinahanglan nga
matagaan ug ayuda ang mga katawhan nga ang kita medyo kulang pa,” he shared.
Governor Oaminal further
elaborated on the national government's role in creating this program. “This
has been considered by our national government and our leaders, which is why
this legislation was created to provide assistance to those with insufficient
income. Let's thank those who worked hard to draft this legislation, including
our Congressman Sancho Fernando ‘Ando’ Oaminal, who consulted and prioritized
who should receive assistance first—the motorcab drivers, and various
operators.”
Meanwhile, Second District Rep.
Sancho Fernando “Ando” Oaminal highlighted the nationwide scope of the
activity. He stated, “This is a nationwide activity, meaning the entire
Philippines is launching the AKAP-334 in different locations across the country.
Various districts are conducting simultaneous launches of the newest DSWD
program under the leadership of President Bongbong Marcos."
The AKAP payout is designed to
provide immediate financial relief to minimum wage earners, low-income earners,
and those in financial distress. This initiative is part of the government's
broader effort to support vulnerable sectors and enhance the quality of life
for all Filipinos. By ensuring that financial assistance reaches those in need,
the program aims to uplift communities and promote economic stability.
