Gov. Oaminal promotes tourism development in MisOcc



Misamis Occidental Governor Henry S. Oaminal bared the multi-billion worth of programs for tourism development and advancement in the province.

In a live interview, Governor Oaminal said the Misamis Occidental continues to build up a “ridge to reef tourism” to further spur the province’s economic growth, particularly in the two districts.

“We are poise to develop Misamis Occidental not only as an investment place but also in the tourism aspect so we implemented both coastal and the mountain,’’ Gov. Oaminal said during an interview with Deo Macalma of Damdaming Bayan DZRH Radio on March 4.

Oaminal touted the Asenso Misamis Occidental Resort and Aquamarine Park, a Maldives-inspired resort in Sinacaban town, as well as the Asenso Global Gardens (AGG) in Tangub City, the Piduan Falls and the Lake Duminagat in Don Victoriano town.

Governor Oaminal also revealed that each local government unit in the province is now developing its respective tourism destination, making the Misamis Occidental well known to the entire Mindanao.

He highlighted the crucial role of LGUs in increasing tourist arrivals, attracting potential investors, and consequently creating more job opportunities for Misamisnons while contributing to higher provincial revenues, in the province.

The venture is anchored on the provincial government's flagship projects, aligned with Gov. Oaminal's Asenso vision—creating One Misamisnons.

The province aims to make Misamis Occidental a premier tourism destination and an investment hub for Mindanao.

“The ongoing infrastructure projects not only promise a picturesque getaway for tourists but also signifies a promising step toward sustainable economic development for the province,” Governor Oaminal noted.(SN/PGMO)
